As a student at Hope College, Jacquelyn Malloch got her foot in the door at Hamilton Middle School. Malloch student taught with Mr. Duane Bosma and Mrs. Melissa Chambers and fell in love with the atmosphere right away.
"I just really loved the students, the community, and the atmosphere of Hamilton Middle School, so I feel so grateful I was able to start my career here," Malloch smiled.
Malloch was also hired as the freshman girls basketball coach in 2018 and was named the varsity head coach one year later at the age of 22.
"It's an opportunity to teach in middle school which is what I wanted but also coach high school girls basketball which is really great," she added. "I just feel really grateful that they took a chance on me and allowed me to learn and grow. I'm very grateful."
As for a goal, Mrs. Malloch wants her students to know she cares as she also pushes them to be their best.
"I hope any student or player hopes they know they were believed in and they grew in their confidence, whether it's their math skills in the classroom or the skills on the court. They need to know they have someone who will always believe in them and will do anything for them."
