Hamilton High School senior Kennedy Perrin is one of seven HHS teaching assistants in the district. All school year long, Kennedy is placed in Mrs. Kate DeWys' second grade classroom at Bentheim Elementary.
"I've always wanted to go into teaching or nursing so I thought this would be a good headstart to figure out if I want to do this long-term or go into healthcare," Perrin said.
As for DeWys, she says it has been great to have the former Bentheim student back inside the building and helping out her students.
"I love having Kennedy in our class, she has a special bond with our students, both academically but also joking with the students, almost as a big sister, she does a great job having that combined role."
