Some Hamilton Middle School students had a unique way of experiencing Earth Day on Monday, April 22. Thanks to a grant from the Forestry Department, 400 trees were able to be planted near the Hamilton Community Schools operations and transportation building, near M-40.

Steve Hickok and Mitchell Niewoonder's 7th and 8th grade STREAM classes teamed up to assist in the tree planting, digging holes, planting the saplings, and sheltering them.

"We're working on preventing erosion and there's an aesthetic value out here too," said Mr. Hickok, "Our goal in STREAM is to one day hopefully utilize some of this space out here."
