The Hamilton Hawkeye Theatre Department will present audiences with an amusingly different way to think about everyone’s favorite fairy tale characters through their production of Into The Woods.

Performances run March 21 – 23 at 7 pm with a sensory-friendly matinee on Saturday, March 23 at 2pm.

With a Tony Award-winning book and score, Into the Woods is both enchanting and touching, as it tells the magical tale of a Baker and his wife, who in their quest to have a child, make a bargain with a vengeful
witch. Their journey into the woods brings them in contact with a host of fairytale characters including Cinderella, Jack, Rapunzel, a wolf, a giant, and even a handsome prince or two. Ultimately, the characters are forced to experience the unintended consequences of their actions. One of Broadway legend Stephen Sondheim’s most popular works, Into the Woods is a masterful, musical journey for a wide range of audiences.

In addition to three general public performances, Hamilton High School is proud to offer a special sensory-friendly matinee on Saturday, March 23. This performance is specially designed for individuals with
sensory, social, and learning disabilities, and their families. Special accommodations for this production will include lower sound levels, designated quiet spaces and activity areas, and vocal responses are
encouraged. This is a great performance for families with younger children.

Into the Woods exploration of “happily ever after” is a beloved story full of adventure, intrigue, and laughter
for all ages.
