On Saturday, February 10, the Hamilton High School Band had 23 events that participated in the MSBOA District X Solo & Ensemble Festival at Wyoming High School.
Of those events that participated, 6 earned 2nd division ratings and 17 earned 1st division ratings. The first division ratings all qualified for State.
"We had many, many wonderful performances throughout the day, with some students even earning perfect scores," said band director, Mr. Joe Herrick, "The comments from the judges included many glowing remarks. For example, the comments from Caroline Johnson's tuba solo judge included, "this is a master class in expressive tuba playing- I am going to set my pencil down and simply enjoy the music."
Of the 17 that qualified for state, 15 chose to participate! We are very proud of these HHS band members, way to go!
