An exciting event happened this past Tuesday at Hamilton Elementary! First grade teacher, Mrs. Jodie Ferrell, was thrilled to discover she had won a "Truckload of Books" after entering a drawing hosted by Consumers Concrete. Former Hamilton parent and Consumers Concrete Ready Mix Sales Manager Bill Dyke visited Mrs. Ferrell's classroom on Tuesday, January 14 with his hands full of books centered around construction, excavating, and engineering, along with a toy construction truck that will be loved at recess!
The students gathered around as Mr. Dyke enthusiastically read an excavating book to the tune of the classic song, Old McDonald Had a Farm. The children couldn’t contain their excitement as they sang along and laughed, engaging in the true fun of the story. Smiles and songs filled the classroom as Mr. Dyke was able to make the learning experience both educational and entertaining, sparking curiosity which may inspire them to learn more about the construction world.
This visit showcased Consumers Concrete’s commitment to supporting local schools and fostering a love for reading and learning in young students. The dozens of books will be utilized in the classroom for years to come!
Thanks to Consumers Concrete and Mr. Dyke for making this a memorable and exciting day for these first graders at Hamilton Elementary. Their generosity and enthusiasm for education made this a moment the students and teachers will cherish for a long time!
