At Blue Star Elementary, the monthly all-school reading event continues to be a favorite among students, fostering friendships and improving literacy skills. Each month, older students pair up with younger classmates to share books, build relationships, and create a stronger sense of community.
“Blue Star is a family. We all get to be together with different kids that we don’t know, and we become friends while helping make them stronger readers,” shared one enthusiastic first grader.
This initiative is just one of the many ways Blue Star Elementary embraces the Hawkeye Family experience, encouraging mentorship, learning, and connection across all grade levels.
